The Business of Joe Diver America Example

The Business of Joe Diver America Example The Business of Joe Diver America – Case Study Example ï » ¿The Business of Joe Diver America Joe Diver is stationed in America, in Florida. The foundation of the business was laid down by Joe who started it way back in 1970s. At that time, scuba diving gear was available in only one color i.e. black. Soon Joe entered the web world in 1990s and it is today the largest privately owned web scuba business in the United States. It was during the eighties that Scuba diving went main stream. Improvements continued to be made in gadgets, colors etc. soon Joe hired more students and trained them, was carrying more manufacturers then ever before and was selling more equipment than most stores in that business combined. Joe was aware of every manufacturer in town and tried his best to produce high quality products at good prices. (Joe's Philosophy) Joe has pioneered his business and made it successful in no time. He did so by giving a lot of time to diving. In that way he could tell what products would work and which products wont work. He could make out which gears will be feasible which will be considered as junk by the customers. This Diver America site, carries product in each of the following genres:’Scuba Diving Gear, Snorkel Equipment, Kid's Scuba Gear, Scuba Accessories, Underwater Cameras, Scuba Tools& Gadgets, Dive Gear Essentials, and Fund Dive Stuff.’ (Joe Diver America) Â  Given, the background of the company and its mainstream business related to company, an expansion into foreign grounds will bring in more revenue and would serve him better than ever before. The company that Joe can expand into is Greece. The primary reason for expansion into Greece is the abundance of water there. The products that he is selling and specializing in will complement the abundance of water. This would mean an excess of resorts, diving grounds, etc and a larger market base in Greece. Greece is a parliamentary republic state. It’s annual GDP exceeds that of most European Union countries. On economic grounds, it is a lucrative investment. The tourism industry is one of the main sources of foreign exchange and revenue for its GDP. It makes around 15% of the overall GDP of Greece and employs 17% of the total work force. Thus, the land is really popular for tourists, which makes it a better prospect for divers as chances that resorts and pools and areas to attract tourists and their excursion are greater. The competition would be slightly tough there due to the nation’s heavy dependence on tourism for revenue. More outlets would be in motion selling products that would support tourist ventures such as diving, swimming, sky diving, skating etc. The risks will be minimal for a start up. The company wont opt for brick and mortar system immediately. To help get a better idea of the way things work around in Greece, and the customer psyche, in the first few months, operations will be run via the website only. However, a consortium of products will be sent and stored in warehouses in Greece from where they would be shipped directly to customers. This will reduce the cost of making overseas shipments as soon as the order is placed. Bibliography Joe Diver America. (n.d.).
